Week 35: Don’t Forget
Today’s Text: Psalms 102-104
Key Text: Psalm 103:1-5
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Sometimes the most important thing we can do is simply remember.
When the world is rushing by – or pressing in – on us – it’s sometimes important to just remind ourselves, “don’t forget.”
Don’t forget what?
The Psalmist has the answer. Don’t forget
- To praise God
- His benefits
- His forgiveness
- His healing
- His redemption
- His love and compassion
Remember all that – at just the right time – and you will indeed find that “your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Too often we think we have to “do” something; find a way out; come up with the answer no one else has. Instead, maybe it is enough to just remember that God has already provided a way out; already given the best answers to our deepest questions.
So, when all else fails – or better yet – before that happens – don’t forget – remember God
Remember all God has done; can do; and will still do.
Just remember.
