“Zacchaeus was a wee little man, a wee little man was he…”
I remember singing that song. In fact, it may have been one of the first songs I ever learned as a child in church.
It speaks of Jesus specifically reaching out to a rich man who was “small in stature,” and apparently, small in character too. Jesus makes a point of touching him with his love – and it changed him forever.
There isn’t much more to say, really.
Some people – whom the world sees as irredeemable – are the very ones God touches in the most profound of ways.
I need to remember that…
- When I am frustrated with others
- A little too self-righteous in my attitude
- Too unforgiving
How else can I love, as I have been loved?
