As Jesus drew closer to Jerusalem for that final encounter with destiny, he spoke of how God would be glorified by what was to take place. He knew, better than anyone else, how difficult these last days would be. He also knew how necessary they were. So, as the Scripture says, he “set his face resolutely” toward that fate.
Moving closer to what God has called us to do can be difficult. We dare not compare our difficult life experiences to this one that Jesus endured.
Still, we can identify with – can we not? – that God calls us, at times, to painful – and yet necessary – tasks.
As we face such moments, may we do as the Lord did, may we remember that it is all to the glory of God.
